The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is going to change the syllabus of the courses of tourism and hospitality management operating across the country. These changes will be made according to the new education policy released last month.
AICTE has a separate board for major changes related to the Tourism Hospitality Management course. Its name is All India Board of Tourism and Hospitality Management (AIBTHM). This board will change the structure of the syllabus.
Only the required subjects will be in the syllabus
AIBTHM Chairman SP Bansal told in a conversation with The Tribune newspaper that, in the new Education Policy 2020, instructions have been given to keep only the necessary subjects in the syllabus. Based on this, the syllabus of the courses of tourism and hospitality management will be changed.
There will also be multiple exit options
All UG-PG courses in tourism and hospitality sectors will now be made multi-disciplinary. Also, multiple exit options will also be added to each course. The board has also constituted a committee of experts to implement these changes.
